At The Casual Cameo our love of cameos began a long time ago, with our first piece being handed down by our great-aunt. To this day, that love continues to deepen. To us, they are reminiscent of a long-gone era and carry a romantic air about them that brings out the “lady” in all of us. In fact, there is almost something magical about them. And while a true stone- or shell-carved cameo offers a truly unique, one-of-a-kind creation guaranteed to become an heirloom, they also come with a price tag that many of us just cannot afford. In our many searches for our personal collection over the years, we have tried to find inexpensive, yet tasteful, reproductions that still showcase the beauty and artisan craftsmanship but without the excessive cost. While we have found bits and piece here and there, it became our vision to bring together the different styles and products, not just jewelry, and offer them to those with a similar adoration and appreciation for the beauty that these works of art represent. So, it is our mission to bring you affordable, vintage-inspired and antique replica pieces that are sure to please. And while we call them “casual”, the name by no means implies that these pieces are anything less than spectacular and classy. They look just as elegant with a faded pair of blue jeans as they do with a formal gown. It is our pleasure to offer you these many delightful findings (most of which are hand-made by talented artists) and we hope you will enjoy them as much as we enjoy sharing them with you!
